The Way of the Gods, or Via Degli Dei to give it it's proper title, is a walk based on the ancient Etruscan trade route between Bologna and Florence.
Perhaps it should therefore be called the Way of the Goods (thanks Jo for the pun) but that just doesn't have the same marketing potential.
It was a review in the Guardian newspaper that alerted me to the existence of this walk, and a stroll through the Apennines with good food and wine sounded brilliant. And two fantastic cities to spend time in at each end.
Unlike my pennine way adventure, the apennine way will be luxury. Staying in inns and small hotels, with a luggage service to carry the baggage.
After a lot of dithering from a lot of people, the final group is myself, Anita and Chris
The complication for me is that I have 10 days in Greece beforehand (first world retirement problems, tell me about them). So my journey starts in the hilltop village of Crisokelleria
